Announcement: We Are Moving!

Hello, everyone! I have good news and I have bad news…

Let’s start with the bad news! Due to the slow economy, Magic Senses® decided to put the Creative Soap Week project/event on hold and concentrate all the resources, time and energy into product development and marketing. Therefore, there will be no soap making contest this year in November, unless someone is willing to sponsor and put their time into organizing it. This was a very sad and hard decision to make but, hopefully, we’ll be able to resume soon.

Now, the good news! During the last year, I have made a lot of special friends, most of them soap makers, just like me. I have enjoyed interviewing and featuring them on this website. I know media coverage is very important and I like spreading the word about dedicated and talented soap makers… so, I decided to grow these relationships, make them long lasting and even start new friendships at CreativeSoap.org.

I have already transferred all the interviews and the Soap Makers Directory to our new website. I have also created a new Facebook page. I will continue to interview and share the stories of ingenious soap designers; if you haven’t been featured yet, just contact me and I’ll see what I can do.

I hope you will join me at CreativeSoap.org and on Facebook. Our next interview is with Leeana from LoveLeeSoaps. Stay tuned! :)

I’m sure many of you have been waiting for this post…  Let me start by saying THANK YOU to all our participants! Each and every one of you did an absolutely AMAZING job creating the Winter Wonderland soap designs and I wish I had fourteen $100 prizes because I think each of you deserves to win! Unfortunately, this is a contest and there must be only 1 winner… but we decided to offer a second and third place also! All these thanks to Magic Senses, our main sponsor!

Description:

Winterwonderland is a combination of CP and Transparent soap from scratch. Rich in silk, almond oil and cocoa butter. It’s decorated with tiny tapioca beads and snow fairy dust. Scented with Sugared Spruce FO, which gives it a fresh wintery scent.
The soap is made in two stages: the transparent soap first to be used as embeds in the CP part. The embeds are covered with a very thin layer of Silver mica for a magical touch.

Weight: 4.5 to 5 ounces (hand-cut)

The first time I ever saw snow fall was during Christmas time last year on a very memorable trip to Pittsburgh. I took hundreds of photos, but this one was my favorite. It was what came to mind when you said “winter wonderland”. This is a four ounce soap. I used a fresh linen scent for it.

6.8oz of soap consists of a white base filled with soap noodles, shredded soap and Epsom salt to give the glitter effects. Snowman is molded by hands with soap noodles and melt and pour soap to give a rugged effect of the snowman. He wore a Loofah hat. The Christmas tree is created with a mold and painted with glitter to give the effects. Fragrance used is Christmas Forest.

A magical 15 oz. Winter Wonderland snow glob (yes it’s a sphere) scented with Fresh Snow fragrance oil to give you the feeling of peace and tranquility after a fresh snowfall. The snow and snowmen are made of fluffy soap frosting full of mica powder to glisten like snow. Each of the six snowmen have a different colored hat and delicately placed eyes, nose and buttons made of sprinkles. The pine trees are also made of soap frosting with hand cut trunks. And no snow globe is complete without snow – shredded iridescent glitter :)
